Mythic Gaming have kicked of 2017 by revealing a new website and the three divisions operating under the MGOs name.

With this year offering plenty of promise for the local competitive scene, it is no surprise to see organisations expanding and Mythic Gaming have expanded and added to their Call of Duty, CS: GO and Dota 2 rosters, as well as their management team.

One of the more intriguing additions to the Mythic Gaming family is our very own Chris ‘SargonDotA2’ House to the Dota 2 squad. He does however only appear to be a shadow of himself in the team photos, but I can assure you that he is an actual living (undead) being…

Call of Duty

The Mythic Gaming Call of Duty team featured at the Call of Duty World League affiliated MAG Cup at rAge and remain unchanged heading into the new Infinite Warfare season.

The team is led by Jason “Beyond” Louw with Jandre “Zeus” Botha, Kyle “Replays” Drennan and Keegan “Riptide” McMaster.

You can find out more about the team here.

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive

The Counter-Strike team is a new addition to the Mythic Gaming family. The team comes about via the “acquisition of the Dynamic CS:GO team” and “came down to a shared vision, overlapping goals, and various other synergies. We have been working hand-in-hand with the team since November 2016 to ensure that they have all the resources they need to succeed and to put a plan in action to grow both their team and individual player brands within the South African CS:GO scene.”

The Mythic CS: GO line-up is made up of Marco “peWpeW” Erasmus, Ben “benzorr” Fourie, Marco “sNx” du Plessis, Ruan “swazz” Mohr and Renier “spam” Spamer.

You can find out more about the team here.

Dota 2

The Mythic Gaming Dota 2 team is a revamp which retains old organisation players and adds a number of “veteran players in the scene as well as some very promising up-and-coming talent.”

The new team came about following a scouting process after rAge 2016 which focused on “finding players who had left teams or currently did not have a team as we did not want to disrupt other team compositions or poach players.”

The new roster and their respective roles are as follows:

  • Timothy “Kuhnchun” Kuhn (Mid Lane)
  • Pierre “PreciousPetunia” Van Rensburg (Carry)
  • Alexander “Levi” Burger (Off-lane)
  • Christopher “Sargon” House (Support)
  • Larry “Majestic” Ward (Support)
  • Gerhard “A_MONSTER” Van der Linde (Sub)

You can find out more about the team here.

Three new additions join the management team of Mythic Gaming:

  • Arthur “Hybrid” Whitehead – Chief Media Manager
  • Matthew Coetzee – Chief Legal Officer
  • Matthew Sudding – Head of Film
