Telkom Digital Gaming League (DGL) | DotA2 Emerald Do-or-Die Proving Grounds Round 3 Results

Telkom Digital Gaming League (DGL) | DotA2 Emerald Do-or-Die Proving Grounds

25 January 2017 | Emerald Do-or-Die Proving Grounds Round 3 Results

Last night saw the #Top8 whittled down to just four teams after Round 3 of the Telkom DGL Emerald Do-or-Die Proving Grounds qualifier cup. If you want to see the entire tournament bracket, please head directly over to the official Digital Gaming League tournament page here. If you’re confused about how all the Emerald qualifiers tie into each other, read our article explaining it all here.

Round 3 Results:

Sin5 Burning are looking particularly strong as they end CN Red’s run in the Telkom DGL Emerald Do-or-Die Proving Grounds qualifiers. CN Red, at the very least, will take away some positives from this particular run as it was a lot better than their last batch of results in the Genesis Proving Grounds. ErA Invicta see off Vz who, like CN Red, have done better in this cup than the last. Neither of these departing teams will be unhappy after these performances, even they they are both eliminated after heavy 2 – 0 defeats.

Such DotA! faced off against Wicked Gaming Salt, who keep outdoing the recent performances of the team who until recently played in the Salt team. Wicked Gaming Salt saw off Such DotA! last night, who are pretty stiff competition. This result no doubt signals Wicked Gaming Salt’s intentions to seriously disrupt the flow of Premier Division this season if they can keep up performances like these. Their 2 – 1 victory against Such DotA! is a pretty solid result, one which I’m sure Such DotA! are not going to be pleased about. Elsewhere, TopKek put a firm end to Armageddon’s rampage through the cup with a solid 2 – 0 victory over Critizee’s team. TopKek now face Wicked Gaming Salt, and they’d be fools to underestimate this team of relative unknowns after the Such DotA! result.

Round 4 (quarterfinals) takes place tonight (Thursday 26th January 2017) at 20h30. Only four teams remain to battle it out for a higher seed placement at the Emerald Showdown. The fixtures tonight are as follows:

The pick of these matches is Wicked Gaming Salt facing off against TopKek, as both these teams are in Prem Div in the DGL. This match is sure to be of supremely high quality and worth a watch if you’re not watching a Masters fixture. On the other hand, Sin5 Burning have also been playing solid DotA2 lately. You really can’t go wrong with watching either of these fixtures tonight. GLHF to all the teams involved.

TL;DR Telkom DGL Emerald Do-or-Die Quarterfinals Tonight. Wicked Gaming Salt surprising the pack, coming out on top against Such DotA!
