ESWC has confirmed the South African qualifier for the Counter-Strike: Global Offensive championship to be held in Montreal, Canada over 9 to 12 July 2015. The local qualifier will be organised and administrated by Orena.

The South African qualifier will see 32 teams participate in an online qualifier that kicks off on 17 May and runs for one week to determine the top eight teams which will then fight for the spot on offer at a LAN event at Jukes eSports Lounge in Centurion on 6 and 7 June.

Four slots in the qualifier have been assigned to Damage Control, Bravado Gaming, Energy Esports, and Eternal Conflict, with the other 28 spots available to teams on a ‘first come first served’ basis.

The prize up for grabs – and sponsored by MSI Notebooks, SteelSeries and AlwaysOn – are tickets for the winning team to the Championship in Canada.

Registrations are now open for the South African qualifier.

Matches will be streamed via Orena’s Twitch channel with casting by Kyle ‘Congo’ Wolmarans.
