On Thursday 3 November, the Tech & Gaming Expo starts at the Capegate Shopping Centre in the Northern Suburbs of Cape Town. The expo will feature “the future of technology” and attendees will be able to “try out new games and consoles before buying them”. On top of this there will be a cosplay event on Saturday, as well as a number of tournaments which we (yes, the undead) will be hosting.
Entry to the event and tournaments are free and winners will be showered with a variety of prizes including cash, product and vouchers. We also want players not to feel intimidated by the large scale tournaments and titles, so a number of smaller ‘King of the Hill’ events will be hosted featuring opportunities throughout the expo to win. And on top of that, for just participating, you will be entered into a number of random draw giveaways.
We will be demoing a number of titles too, so head over and give some games a try.
The Capegate Tech & Gaming Expo runs from 3 November to 6 November during normal shopping hours.
Tournaments
All tournaments will operate as a first-come first-served basis and no pre-registration will be available. Ensure that you are on-site at the times listed and note that entries can be capped to ensure fluid operations.

The cosplay activities are as follows:

- 12:00: Registration opens at Main Stage
- 13:00 – 14:30: Guest-Judged Cosplay Contest.
- Categories are: Experienced (Minimum 70% must be self-crafted), Novice & Bought cosplay. Top 3 spots per category can win awesome prizes!
- Clear reference imagery strongly recommended of front, side and back view of cosplayed character.
- 14:30 – 15:00 Casual Stage Time
- 15:00 Cosplay Parade
