We made no secret of our disappointment with the lack of support of both players and spectators for our recent C4 LAN event that we hosted on 4 October. It shows that no matter how good your own intentions, it always requires the support of others to make an event a success.
For those a little lost, the C4 LAN was the ‘Call of Duty for Children with Cancer Charity LAN’ where we intended to raise funds for CHOC. However, on the day, only four teams arrived (please put this in contrast with us regularly turning away that number of teams due to reaching our twelve team cap at other events) and the spectators were nowhere to be found. The funds were to be raised for the charity by way of the entry fees from the teams and money raised via a raffle. Sadly, without spectators, the raffle was almost a futile exercise.
However, not ones to give up, we’ve decided to extend things a little, and we will be keeping the charity raffle going until 29 November (the date of the last T-Fest event of 2014) in an effort to raise more funds for the donation. So, if you’re at any of our upcoming events, R10 will get you an entry for the hamper which will contain: a Zombiegamer t-shirt, a Call of Duty painting by Rebel Monkey Photography and Painting, a Call of Duty embroidered artwork by Krafts by Witch Knight and a Tattoo voucher.
However, should you wish to donate directly to the organisation, the following bank details can be used. It would be greatly appreciated if you could use ‘C4LAN’ as the payment reference. The organisation does ask that you email or fax the deposit slip and this donation form to them.
