Microsoft Downplay 3D In The Home

Microsoft’s Xbox Director of Product Management, Aaron Greenberg, downplayed the significance of 3D gaming when talking to Destructoid as CES. He said “I think there’s a lot of questions, to be honest. 3D is great in the theater, but for the living room? I think we’re a long ways away from that.”… [editor] but dude, Sony say it’s around the corner.

“In the theater there’s nothing between you and the experience, but as you have other people in the room and other people walking by, well, it’s not the same experience” he told Destructoid, and I can see where he is coming from if you consider 3D’s stringent requirements such as 3D glasses, TV etc.

I think if it is near, it will remain a niche market for awhile to come.
