The local media liaison for Xbox in South Africa have been kind enough to send us the full schedule of Xbox related goodies at this years Comic-Con. Sadly, they did not attach first-class (or even economy-class) air tickets to the event. We’re currently accepting donations.
Now before everyone runs off thinking that this is the start of ‘Cloud Storage’ and other awesome features… it’s not. Today’s update is purely a preparation for the “additional system enhancements coming to Xbox 360 later this year”.
According to InsiderIS sources Xbox 360 games will be playable on PC with the release of Windows 8. This would effectively extend the lifespan of current generation hardware and quite obviously mean money in Microsoft’s coffers.
We assume it’s feasible in theory, but we will assume that for now Microsoft “do not comment on rumours”.

KINECTaku are reporting that a a special R2-D2 themed model of the console is in the works to coincide with the release of Kinect Star Wars. According to a “close source in the retail sector”. Hence the reason we consider it a rumour for now.

Let’s be honest – you all know how this goes. Someone says something and the official powers that be decline to comment on the rumour. In this case ‘someone’ is a “high-ranking” source at Crytek and the official powers declining to comment are both Crytek and Microsoft.

The game is being built using the CryEngine 3, and will apparently focus on branching paths, exploration and sandbox gameplay.
A new IBM chipset for the Xbox 360 which combines the CPU, GPU, memory and I/O logic on a single 45nm chipset is apparently on the cards which will drive down manufacturing costs and reduce the size and power consumption of the board in the console. While this sort of announcement would seemingly be made in conjunction with a new…
Powercare took over the Xbox 360 swap-out service from MiDigital in July. It seems since then, victims of the dreaded RROD are getting their faulty consoles replaced alot quicker.
I have been looking up on them and have read many reports on Hellopeter and GetClosure sites that show that Powercare are doing a stellar job. There is also a poll on our localXbox 360 forum that has only positive feedback. So I think we can assume that we finally got the back-up that we needed for the Xbox 360.
We have some more news regarding the Xbox 360 dashboard update coming this season. Later this month, Microsoft will be releasing a beta to the public. The new dashboard update will incorporate Facebook and Twitter, which will help Microsoft’s vision to make the Xbox Live experience more of a social center too. Puzio-Brookes, an Entertainment Manager from Xbox, previewed…
