Andriasang – who have been correct with similar reports – has reported that a new PlayStation 3 model labeled the CECH-3000B is coming. The new model is an even slimmer PS3 which will consume less power (200W instead of 230W) and will weigh less (2.6kg instead of 3kg) than the current slim. The hard drive will remain unchanged at 320GB,…
While rumours of the next Xbox being revealed at E3 next year get under way, Sony still remain convinced that their current generation console will be around for a while still.
Metacritic has officially crowned the Playstation 3 as the ‘platform of the year’ in their first ever platform rankings… fanboys all around the world will be either crying a little inside or linking the article to everyone on their friends list.
If you don’t know how Metacritic works, they take a weighted average of critic grades and get to an overall score. It sort of works, but with game titles I write the top 3 scores off to being fanboys, the bottom 3 scores off to being haters and then get an average from the scores left, and it does work for me.
Just when I thought it was time to invest in the PS3 120gb Slim, reports of a 250gb start appearing. Eurogamer reported that “a 250gb will arrive as early as October, as part of three console-plus-game bundles.” I know that this is will be for Europe and UK but local distributor will have to follow shortly after no doubt.
Sony has not officially announced this but I am sure it is because they don’t want to show all their cards to Microsoft, whom I am so eager to see what they may have in the pipe-line. Eurogamer stated that this information comes from “a reliable retailer” who wished to remain anonymous as Sony have not confimed. October, I am sure, will be the date for this to happen as it is a very big month for some huge titles to be launched including GT5, Assassins Creed, Uncharted II and more.
