Of course, as the year nears its end, you can only expect the news from the local scene to slow down. This may in fact be the last SA Gaming News Wrap of 2015, but if something happens this year, we’ll be sure to report on it.
Until 2016 then. Thanks for a great year.

- GameLocal which promised R210,000 in prizes over a variety of cities and events is scheduled to hit Cape Town this weekend. The FIFA 16 tournament would have awarded the first place finisher with R10,000, but it appears as if the organisation has shuttered, as their Facebook Page has gone dark. So no, this is not really an upcoming event.

BHG LAN
This past weekend saw the inaugural Battle Hardened Gamers (BHG) LAN event hosted at the Vodacom World Events center in Midrand Johannesburg. On the agenda for the event were CS: GO, Dota 2 and Battlefield 4 tournaments sponsored by Asus, SteelSeries, MSI, Gigabyte and more with prizes totalling well over R30,000.
While the CS: GO and Dota 2 tournaments appear to have happened without any issues, a statement issued by the organisers reveals that the Battlefield 4 tournament was cancelled due to reasons not detailed. All affected teams and players for that tournament will receive a refund, as well as free entry to the next event or participation in an online variant of the Battlefield 4 tournament.
The other two titles saw familiar faces battling for the podium, and in CS: GO, two old rivals faced off again. In a repeat of many finals Bravado Gaming met Energy eSports, but in a reversal of recent matches, Energy reigned supreme with a 2-1 win. The full bracket for the tournament can be found here. You can also read more in-depth coverage of the final here.
Bravado Gaming took another podium spot in Dota 2, but this time they ran out winners.
Photos from the BHG LAN were snapped by Bravado and SteelSeries.
