ASUS Republic of Gamers and Orena are bringing the Battlefield 4 community the ROG Garnage Cup.

Following a community vote, it seems that Battlefield players wanted more competition and this tournament is happy to oblige the want of the community by offering just that and adding R24,000 in vouchers to the mix spread across the top four teams.

The tournament will run from 4 October to 30 October and teams that are not traditionally considered ‘top tier’ are encouraged to participate. Entry is free and the tournament will feature a group into knockout phase.

5 vs 5 Dominatiion will be the format with all matches being best of 3 until the Grand Final which will be a best of 5.

Additional information and details can be found in the press release below.

Press Release:

Cape Town, South AfricaOrena and ASUS Republic of Gamers are proud to announce the ‘ROG Carnage Cup‘. The tournament aims to introduce a competitive environment, with great prizes, to teams at a development level who wish to taste glory for the first time.

Do you think you’ve got a great ‘Battlefield 4’ team? Are you tired of grinding through the ranks for your shot at the big money? Think you have what it takes to be the champion? Then the ‘ROG Carnage Cup‘ is the perfect arena for you and your comrades.

Last week we put out a vote to see which eSport would be part of the inaugural ‘ROG Carnage Cup‘ and it seems ‘Battlefield 4‘ players are either really hungry for a tournament, or there’s some secret preparation underway for the release of ‘Battlefield 1‘. Regardless, we’re excited to cover our first ever ‘Battlefield 4‘ event, and the timing could not be more perfect.

At Orena we’re all about development, and while we wish to grow as an organization, we also want to grow the community. This is why the ‘ROG Carnage Cup‘, and the inclusion of Battlefield, is perfect for the development of local eSports, and we cannot wait to share it with you.

The aim is not to exclude South Africa’s best teams, but rather create opportunities for growth within a variety of eSports titles. ‘Battlefield 4‘ has flown under the radar for far too long and, by popular demand, will be the first title to feature in the ‘ROG Carnage Cup‘.

When ‘ASUS‘ approached us to host the cup, they said they wanted an ‘Amateur Cup‘ for the eSport enthusiast. Look out for some in-game funnies, a talent search for the next best caster, and Steam Voucher giveaways for spectators and players alike.

Eight teams will battle it out for their share of R24 000 in ‘Rebel Tech‘ vouchers and, to get themselves some sweet ‘ASUS gear‘, with the following breakdown:

  • 1st Place: R10 000
  • 2nd Place: R6 000
  • 3rd/4th Place: R4 000

Each player who registers will also get a personalized ROG eSport shirt, with their clan logo and in- game alias.

Registrations open today (September 30th) and the competition will run until October 30th.

We’re also looking to give one lucky aspiring shout caster the chance to spit some knowledge alongside Kyle “Congo” Wolmarans as you shout cast the game and teach ‘Congo’ a thing or two about Battlefield. More info on that later.

Join the tournament, grind your way to the top, and get a taste of the big leagues!
