Your Xbox 360 reputation will not carry over to the Xbox One and that the “majority of members will start fresh at the ‘good’ player level.” Some recent troublemakers will however start with a “needs work” reputation level. [More on IGN]

Microsoft will no longer require third party games coming to XBLA on the Xbox One to release a demo of their game. Marc Whitten said: “Not all games will have demos like Xbox Live arcade games have had on Xbox 360. That said, we are going to work on lots of ways to make it easy for you to find and try new games on the service.”

Major Nelson (and Microsoft generally we assume) are keen to point out that the Xbox One has not been rushed to the market and that the next-gen “program has been in development for years”. [More on CVG]

The Xbox One is now in full production. Xbox chief marketing officer Yusuf Mehdi also confirmed the console’s CPU has been improved from 1.6 GHz to 1.75 GHz. [More on Geekwire]

Sony will be revealing a PlayStation-branded virtual reality head-mounted display at the Tokyo Game Show. The device – according to CVG – is a categorical rival to the Oculus Rift. [More on CVG]

Sony will be showing off more than 50 titles at Tokyo Game Show – of which there will be over ten PS4 titles including Knack and Deep Down. Other games will be for the PS3 and PS Vita. [More on CVG]

Yesterday, it was revealed that the Xbox One will support eight controllers at once. It has now been confirmed that the PS4 will only support four controllers at once. [More on Eurogamer]

Sony has “no firm plans” for a PS4 and PS Vita bundle. That doesn’t mean Sony won’t work with retailers to “put them together alongside each other as at least a great companion trade up sale.” Most likely won’t be the case in SA sadly. [More on OPM]

From 3 September to 9 September, you can pick up all the Call of Duty titles on Xbox Live at discounted prices. From next week a number of Ubisoft XBLA titles go on sale, including Call of Juarez: Gunslinger and Far Cry: Blood Dragon. There’s more coming to Xbox Live, and you can see the full list here.

The ‘Ultimate Vault Hunter Upgrade Pack 2: Digistruct Peak Challenge’ for Borderlands 2 is now available and raises the level cap of the game to 72 and introduces a new area and mission. You can download the DLC for £3.49 / $4.99.

Work has been started on a PS4 version of TimeSplitters Rewind – a fan-made PC project based on the previous three TimeSplitters games. According to the project lead Michael Hubicka: “We’re actually going to go ahead and start development [of Timesplitters Rewind] on PlayStation 4, just because we’re pretty confident Crytek’s going to say go ahead and do it.” [More on CVG]

Final Fantasy XIV players will be receiving an additional seven days free play time following the game’s troubled launch last week. [More on CVG]
