Games
The free (yes, FREE!) ‘Power of Shadow’ DLC bundle for Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor, is now available now for Xbox One and “soon” for PS4 and Steam. The DLC includes:
- Play as the Black Hand of Sauron.
- Epic Runes including:
- One with Nature – Immunity to Poison attacks from Uruk Captains or Ghuls.
- Ascendant – Double Focus Time for slow motion ranged combat.
- Elven Grace – Increased defence which halves the damage of enemy strikes.
“DriveClub PS Plus Edition news will come as soon as we have concrete info – sorry to keep you all waiting.” That’s the word from Evolution Studios via Facebook.
EA Sports has released a new patch (available on PC and PS4 with the Xbox One version soon) for FIFA 15 that promises to improve shooting and goalkeeper behaviour among a host of other fixes and tweaks. [More…]
The first (of five) DLC packs for Alien: Isolation – entitled ‘Corporate Lockdown’ – will be out 28 October. The DLC offers three new maps for the game’s Survivor Mode, as well as a new playable character, a unique set of objectives and a new game mode. The DLC will sell for $7.99/€6.99/£5.59 (or come as part of the season pass) and will be followed by four more packs: ‘Trauma’, ‘Safe Haven’, ‘Lost Contact’ and ‘The Trigger’.
The Walking Dead: Season Two from Telltale Games is now available via retail and download on PS4 and Xbox One in North America, and will be available in Europe on 31 October. Retail editions will also be available for the first time on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
To celebrate the 20th Anniversary of Tekken, Ace Combat Infinity will get three special aircrafts depicting characters from the fighting series, as well as emblems. The special content will only be available until 4 November.
WipEout co-creator Nick Burcombe has announced Table Top Racing: World Tour which will be a timed PlayStation 4 exclusive. The game is expected in Q4 2015.
Sega has confirmed that Persona 4 Arena Ultimax will launch in Europe on 21 November 2014.
From next month it will be “possible for players to migrate their Dark Souls: Prepare to Die games, saves and achievements from the Games for Windows Live platform to Steam.” [More…]
Hearthstone will still be available for Android tablets by the end of the year, while the smartphone version of the game will only be available in 2015. [More…]

This week’s Deals with Gold have been announced, and the grump in us says, why did they bother? Discounted items available until 27 October include: R.B.I. While we should be more excited that there is a new sale heading to the PlayStation Network that features Demon’s Souls, Outlast and other horror-themed titles, it’s slightly funnier to see the ad for the sale use the Sunset Overdrive font… The font is available for free, the games not however.
Civilization 5 is free to play from right now until 10am on 23 October 2014 via Steam. This obviously an attempt to draw players in before the launch of Civilization: Beyond Earth.
