The Xbox One release delay in eight countries is not due to “launch volumes”. According to Albert Penello of Microsoft on NeoGAF: “This was simply a software issue in terms of getting local language and voice support in the dash. It’s pretty straightforward, but disappointing I know for people who are missing launch.”

Sony will announce their PS4 release plans at the firm’s pre-Gamescom conference scheduled for 20 August.

The GTA V Achievements have made their way onto the internet. If you want to see what will constitute your 1000 Gamerscore, and aren’t afraid of a few spoilers, head over here.

New armour mods and playlists will arrive alongside the title update for Halo 4 today. The patch comes the day before the ‘Champions Bundle’ DLC releases. [More on CVG]

The PC version of Call of Duty Ghosts will be “an even higher version in many cases than the next-gen consoles, from a texture standpoint” and will “look better than any Call of Duty we’ve [Infinity Ward] ever made on PC.” That’s according to executive producer Mark Rubin. [More on Kotaku]

A new character reveal is being promised this week for Batman: Arkham Origins. The Batman Arkham Twitter announced that an “epic” reveal is incoming, which they accompanied with a series of hints, but did confirm that the reveal has nothing to do with “feline related characters,” nor is it revealing “Shark Repellant Bat Spray.” [More on CVG]

AllGamesBeta has spotted a Google Cache which reveals details of the Ubisoft – as yet unannounced – title Fighter Within.

The previously rumoured ‘Capcom Essentials‘ bundle has now been confirmed for the US. An EU and rest of the world release date is still to be announced. The bundle will contain Devil May Cry 4, Dead Rising 2, Super Street Fighter IV, Resident Evil 6 and MegaMan 10, along with a Capcom travel bag, and will cost $60 and be available on 8 October.

The open beta for Killzone Mercenary starts 20 August for US PS Plus subscribers, with EU PS Plus subscribers gaining access the next day. A week later, all other PSN subscribers will gain access to the beta. The beta ends on 3 September.

Applications are now open for the closed beta of the PS3 version of Ridge Racer Driftopia – Namco’s free-to-play racer. Applications are open until 22 August and can be filed on the PS3 website.

There are currently no plans to bring Street Fighter to the Wii U. Capcom’s Yoshinori Onosaid on Twitter that the firm “don’t have plan[s]” for a Street Fighter game on Wii U “at this moment”.

Techland has opened a new studio in Canada, to supplement the two studios they have in Poland. The new branch, named Digital Scapes Studios, is led by Managing Director Marcin Chady, who was previously the longtime Technical Director of Radical Entertainment. [More on AllGamesBeta]
