The Ekasi Tech Festival and Gaming Expo kicks off in Soweto this coming Thursday (18 October).

Over the course of the event’s three days will be “30 speakers” across numerous keynote speeches, panels and workshops. As well as a number of exhibitions, there will be the Gauteng Gaming Community Cup and a CS:GO exhibition match. Entrance is free to the event which should mean you have no excuse for not attending if you are based in Gauteng and have an interest in gaming and esports.

Esports

The Gauteng Gaming Community Cup will see the finals of the FIFA and Tekken tournament played out on Saturday from 9am.

From 1pm on Saturday, Soweto will see its first Counter Strike Global Offensive Exhibition Match, between Ekasi eSports and Goliath Gaming. The match will be streamed live via Twitch for those not able to attend the event.

About e-Kasi Techfest

The e-Kasi Tech Fest is an initiative by the Innovation Village Foundation NPC, based in Soweto. Developed in response to the need for the establishment of a platform that will serve to harness the power of diverse thinking, talent and skills and to identify, develop and connect those inventors doing that of which no other has thought of.

e-Kasi Tech Fest hosted at Dlamini Multi-Purpose Centre, will feature esteemed industry leaders, policy makers, innovators from underrepresented communities and a diverse yet influential audience.
