Today’s boom will be over in a… Rush.
(please note the below might contain spoilers for the upcoming movie Rush, I doubt it does, but you read on at your own discretion).
Here is a quick history lesson in the world of Formula 1 circa 1976. See, there was this racer named, Niki Lauda and he was the beez kneez. It was time for German Grand Prix and Mr Lauda has some reservations about the safety of the Nurbergring (Nurrrr Berrr Duurrr ring amiright?). None of his fellow F1 competitors wanted to listen to him so the race continued and long (I mean these races go on forever) story short, Mr Lauda had a grim accident that burned his face off. James Hunt went on to win that race and many more races in Lauda’s absence. Six weeks later, a still healing Niki Lauda returned to the sport in order to keep his lead. Did he? Well, I am not going to go spoil the whole movie for myself.
Rush, an Upcoming Ron Howard movie, is based on that 1976 Grand Prix and from the trailer (below) it looks like something brilliant. Chris Hemsworth, from Thor fame, stars as James Hunt. I am not the biggest F1 fan, but car races are always something brilliant on the big screen.

Little known fact, South African Jody Scheckter placed second in the 1976 German Grand Prix. How cool is that? I wonder who plays him in the movie!
