xbox-one-vs-ps4

Yesterday it was widely reported that Oddworld developer had claimed that the Xbox One performance was closing the gap with the Playstation 4.

Oddworld Inhabitants developer, Lorne Lanning was reported to have claimed the gap between Xbox One and PS4 performance is narrowing.

However, MCV report that this is now being corrected by the CEO of Oddworld publisher, Stewart Gilray, who has subsequently clarified that the comments about Xbox One’s improvements were actually regarding budgets and scheduling.

“Actually that is not what he said,” Gilray told Worlds Factory.

“I spoke to Lorne afterwards and what he meant when speaking to that guy was that budgets, schedules and perceivable differences would narrow, not that the Xbox One performance is improving to align with PS4, that is just physically impossible.

“The PS4 has more compute units, and faster memory and a whole bunch of things, that would make that physically impossible to happen.”

Yesterday’s news did come as a surprise as the Xbox One versions of games have been reported to consistently run at a lower resolution than Sony’s console.
