Warner Bros. buys film rights for Space Invaders

imageWarner Bros. has purchased the film rights to arcade classic Space Invaders.

Taito’s classic arcade hit is not the only vintage game property who’s film rights has been acquired – Asteroids and Missile Command were also acquired in the past but never actually materialized into any sort of film.

GamesIndustry report that Oscar-winning writer Akiva Goldsman (A Beautiful Mind) will work with Joby Harold and Tory Tunnell to adapt the arcade game.

We cannot think of how Space Invaders will be adapted into a film, but are curious nonetheless.
