Recently VS Gaming announced that they had acquired the licence to operate a FIFA eWorld Cup Qualifier tournament for South Africa. The tournament features over R1,5 million in cash prizes as well as a spot (or even spots possibly) in the Global Series Playoffs later this year.
At the time it wasn’t clear as to when or how those keen to compete in the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One tournament could enter, but now that question has been answered. Tickets are now available to purchase. Well, a venue entry pass is available now but the FIFA 18 tournament itself is free. *insert knowing nod and wink here*.
A one day pass will cost R150, while a weekend pass is R210. As to which one you actually need, we would suggest badgering the VS Gaming team, although it seems that purchasing the ticket via Computicket allows you to select your preferred platform at the price of R150. It’s a little unclear whether you need to also register via the VS Gaming site to ensure your spot, but that might just be a good idea.
The tournament will be held at Montecasino in Fourways on 5 and 6 May 2018 and has a player entry cap of 512 per platform (1024 players in total). So we would suggest you get your tickets as quickly as possible before you are disappointed. Also, a word of advise – if you fancy your chances, it might be an idea to get your passport in order.
The event will feature some other activities for those that want to head along and support their FIFA-playing relation/friend/partner. For additional information, you can hit the press release below.
