Undead Ed chews the fat with… S4LT [SA Gaming Clan]

S4LT LogoAnother couple of weeks of no clan to feature has meant that poor Undead Ed is getting less and less to feast on every week. It didn’t take much to convince him to get back to work when we promised extra salt with his meal this week…

When did the clan form and what was the game of choice?

The clan was formed by Francois_jac. His intension with this clan was to form a multi-organisation sports team, and he did succeed by making a clan called S4LT.

S4LT have the following sports teams:

  • Esport PS3 clan with 22 members
  • Esport PC clan with 8 members
  • Esport Xbox coming soon
  • Speed and sound crew and logo 2 loud crew
  • Bass fishing team
  • Any other sports team can contact us for a joint venture.

Do you consider yourselves a competitive Call of Duty clan?

Yes. This clan was formed with a foundation for those players out there to show their talent or to learn competitive gaming, we will be seen in all gaming tournaments and sport events.

Does the clan play any other games for a change of pace?

Yes, we will be playing on all platforms – PC,PS3/4, Xbox as well – games in the Call of duty series, Battlefield series and Killzone.

The clan is based on PS3.  Any plans to expand to the ‘other’ platform?

We already did expand to PC, but soon we will be on Xbox (just need a leader there to run the Xbox).

How many members are you currently?  Keen to give out their names, credit card details and ID numbers?
Alright, only PSN IDs will do.

We have 22 members in the PS3 clan and 8 members in the PC clan. PSN IDs could take a long time. Lol.

How is the clan structured in terms of organisation and leadership?

We have a management section existing on all platforms and 6 members as directors to assist the owner of S4LT. Each section has a leader and co-leaders as well.

How often do you try to play together as a clan?

Every single second when we can, not working or having studies or family time like some older members in the clan do.

Has the clan participated in many tournaments?  Won any?

We are still a growing clan and tournaments will come in our path. At the moment we will not be so strong because of new players getting used to each other and learning this game. We are currently in the Mweb and SEGL tournaments and didn’t do too badly for a new clan that started on 12 April 2013.

We also participated in an Isca Sound Off tournament at the Rand Show and came third in the country with a DB count of 161.0.

Is attending LANs important to the clan and its members – especially considering the lack of (but improving) LANs in the console scene?

Yes we will be seen at local events and LANs, as we have support from Gypsy Gaming and Eagle Rush assisting us in everything we do.

Are you guys actively recruiting for new players?  If so, how should a potential member contact you and how do you decide on who is right to join you?

Our web site will be the starting point to fill in an application form. A one week trial period will be granted to prove that you want to be a part of S4LT Sports team.

What are you hoping to achieve in the future as a clan?

This Multi-Organisation Sports team will be aiming to show support to all local sports and any sport we can cater for. Competetive gaming and growth in our other sections too.

Which opposing clan(s) do you most respect?

There’s a lot. I’m too scared to name them all and leave one out, hehe.
F34R, Vinco, Aow, Raw, Real Gaming, and 0m3n.

I have the whole community as my friends, that’s the fun part.

In regards to professional – or competitive gaming – what do you as a clan think needs to be done to raise the profile of South African gaming?

More local events in JHB, DBN and CPT like the Rage Expo.

ALSO SPACE ON TV TO SHOWCASE OUR eSPORT.

Online tournaments have the risk of hackers and more. The real gamer can only show their talent at local events.

Right, let’s have a little fun…

If you weren’t a gaming clan you’d be…

…less stressed. Lol.

War movie that best describes the clan?

Platoon.

If you guys had a music soundtrack for going to war, what would it be?

That’s going to remain a secret for now as our own personal star Ffactor made a song for us and a single that will launch in SA Stores soon!!!!!!!!!!!!!! [Actually, there’s a video of the song on the clan’s website… – Undead Ed]

Thanks for your time – is there anything you would like to add before you head off?

We are gamers. We enjoy the laughs and the fun we have. It’s also a way of improving or bettering gaming skills.
