RaW Gaming is a newly formed PS3 clan who love their CoD raw most likely. That wild yell of excitement you just heard was indeed Undead Ed… in fact, he nearly split his spleen with excitement. He loves it raw. Raw meat. Raw brains. Raw humans. Raw gaming. You can therefore imagine his excitement when he was handed this assignment…
You appeared on the scene early in 2012. Who were the original members and have they come from other clans?
The founding members of RaW are Diveshan, EliteChickon, FBI_23, Luckykid95, RutilusSn1pa, Samurai Jack and ShaheedLeeman. We all originally formed the Call of Duty team of Nine Inch Ninjas which, due to irreconcilable differences, fell apart. Instead of letting our names fade away, we decided to form RaW.
How many members are you currently? Keen to give out their names, credit card details and ID numbers? Alright, only PSN IDs will do.
Currently we have two awesome teams. RaW Gaming & RaW Mavericks. The 14 members are;

Call of Duty appears to be you game of choice – do you consider yourselves a competitive clan, or one in it more for “the fun of it”?
We started out as having fun, but realised that our core members are strong and committed. After our first DGL tournament, we got involved in subsequent tournaments and now played competitively. We are learning new things all the time, but having fun keeps the group together and involved.
Any other games that tickle the fancy of RaW?
For now the love for COD is what makes us and keep us together. So as far as more games in the near future we are willing to expand in other FPS gaming…who knows, maybe Mario Cart? hehe
Does the name RaW have a specific meaning?
RaW stands for ‘Rebels at War’
Does the clan have an organisational structure? Or are you a democracy?
We collaborate regularly between all members. Final decisions are voted on by the founding members. Everyone may have their say.
How often do you try to play together as a clan?
Daily. RaW boasts the elite teamwork that we share as well as ridiculous socializing behind the scenes.
Are you guys actively recruiting for new players? If so, how should a potential member contact you and how do you decide on who is right to join you?
At the moment we are not actively recruiting new players. However, we are interested in growing Raw in the future. Feel free to visit rawgaming.co.za and signup on the recruiting page. Leaving your details and interest in joining will definitely help us when we do want to recruit.
What are you hoping to achieve in the future as a clan?
I think our first and foremost focus would be to actively support and participate in the COD & Gaming community; To be respected by other clans and to cement the RaW Gaming clan as a permanent fixture in competitions; And to be amongst the best teams in the South African gaming community. Short-term goal would be to finish amongst the top 10 in the MGL.
Which opposing clan(s) do you most respect.
We respect all clans and build lasting relations with many members in the community.
In regards to professional – or competitive gaming – what do you as a clan think needs to be done to raise the profile of South African gaming?
The gaming community in South Africa is growing by leaps and bounds. I hope to see SA having its very own ‘National Championships’ in the first person shooter genre.
