Undead Ed chews the fat with… Elite Gaming [SA Gaming Clan]

To face down against Elite Gaming, we had to send in our own very elite zombie.  Some say he eats braaaaaiiiiiiinnnnssss all day.  Others say he nibbles fingers for a pastime.  Some call him a monster.  We call him beautiful.  He’s Undead Ed and and he faced down Chris ‘eG.Gh0st’ to find out more about Elite GAming…

When did the clan form and how many members were you at the beginning?

The clan began towards the beginning of 2011, closer to April. There were 3 main admins who started the clan. We then proceeded to play as eG and eLt with one main team.

Did you start due to a specific game?

Yes. We started as a “fun and games” clan, and then like most others continued on to become competitive and working hard to become one of the best in The Do Gaming League. The game we started with was Call of Duty Black Ops.

You play a variety of games now – care to list them and the teams?

At the moment we play 4 games including upcoming release of Call of Duty Black Ops 2. The other games include:

-League of Legends and the team name ” `Venom”
-Call of Duty Black Ops and the team names – ” `Ace” and ” `Blue”
-Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3, same team names as above.
-Call of Duty Black Ops 2, same teams as above.
-Call of Duty Modern Warfare (this generally for fun purposes)

In total, how many members are in the clan now?

18 – CoD

6 – League of Legends

How is the clan organised in terms of a management structure?

We currently have 2 admins who are on most of the day between them. A few moderators control our personal Teamspeak 3 server and we are also looking to have at least 2 “unranked” servers in Call of Duty Black ops 2, with most senior players having mature control of the server. 2nd team captain controls his team whilst myself and my admin controls the 1st side, we control the teams with regards to maturity in servers and on Teamspeak 3. We try to use the “Example setting” idea to insure the best behaviour.

How often do you play together as a clan?

We attempt to organize friendly clan matches every night, however if this is not possible we generally will find and empty server and play together, all the while other people start to fill up the server.

Do you consider yourselves a competitive clan, or one in it more for “the shits and giggles”?

We consider ourselves and a very competitive clan, we strive to be the very best. We look forward to challenging any top clan and hope to be in the top division in the leagues to come.

Taken part in – and won any – tournaments you feel like bragging about?

We are a relatively new clan, and missed the registrations for DGL by a close margin. However we are looking forward to representing eG in the future Tournaments.

Is attending LANs important to the clan and its? Which LANs do the clan members attend generally?

Yes it is. We believe that getting a name for ourselves is our top priority. We are going to attend the Rage LAN in 2013 as a clan, as well as few members down Cape Town attend the OC LAN.

Are you guys actively recruiting players? How do you decide on who is right to join you?

Yes we are. We decide by trialing them on a certain map, the shows us how experienced the certain player is. We trail certain player in a form of a practice clannie, as this also shows us how he handles himself with a gun.

Clan you respect the most…

We respect Way2Pro (w2p), and also have immense respect for 5eA and VOID. As well as the all time favourites – Bravado Gaming.

What are you hoping to achieve in the future as a clan?

1st Division in League of Legends and Black ops 2. As well as putting a fight against the bvd’s and 32B’s of Black ops 2

In regards to professional – or competitive gaming – what do you as a clan think needs to be done to raise the profile of South African gaming?

South African gamers need to attend international LANs, tournaments and expo’s in order to raise our profile, and release the power of South African gaming!

Serious getting to know you stuff over…

If you weren’t a gaming clan you’d be…

real soldiers fighting for South Africa’s Army

War movie that best describes the clan – Apocalypse Now or Tropic Thunder?

Tropic Thunder, Rambo and the A Team!

If you guys had a music soundtrack for going to war, what would it be?

Simple Plan – Last One Standing and Eye of the Tiger.

Thanks for your time. Is there anything you would like to add before going back to the virtual killing fields?

Thank you for giving us the opportunity to improve the stature and nature of our clan.

We thought we’d share the joke they shared with us.  We LOL’d.  Then we ate them.

Harmless civilian: So what do you do for a living?
Elite Gaming: We kill zombies!
Harmless civilian: But zombies don’t exist?
Elite Gaming: Have you seen any zombies?
Harmless civilian: …No…
Elite Gaming: You can thank us later.
