UFC fighters could be banned for signing for EA

by Victor ‘rOgue’ Vieira

Have you wondered why some of the biggest MMA names do not feature in THQ’s UFC Undisputed 2009? That’s because fighters like Randy Couture have already signed for EA for their upcoming game MMA.

This sport is the fastest growing sport in the world at the moment and UFC is the major reason. The sport brought in $19 million on pay-per-view alone last year, so president of the UFC, Dana White (the first person you meet in the THQ game) cashed in the success with the run-away hit from THQ.

Rumors are surfacing saying that fighters that sign with EA could be banned from the UFC! Apparently White has released fighters before who have not co-operated with his video game demands.

Protecting his pay-cheque it seems. Now if this turns out to be more than a rumor what will fighters do, stay with UFC and therefore not feature in EA? ……hmmmm I wonder how this will impact the EA game.

We could have a MMA PES vs FIFA situation brewing.
