Trenchtown Modern Warfare Remastered 2v2 | The Results

This past weekend, 16 two-player teams participated in our first Call of Duty LAN of 2017.

While the event saw a fair number of new faces attending the event, there were a number of regular players representing too, indicating a definite growth in the local LAN scene.

On the day, the action saw the teams compete in a best of three double elimination format across Search and Destroy (SnD), Hardpoint and back to SnD again. Maps per match were decided using a ban and draft pick system, which saw some interesting choices and clever banning tactics by some teams.

While the Astra Youth team took the top spot in the end, they did need a second bite at it after Team Protein came from the loser’s bracket to take the first win of the grand final 2-1. The Astra players fought back in the do-or-die decider to secure the winner’s spot 2-0.

The final placings after the action settled:

  • First Place: Astra Youth (R500 cash + R500 Raru vouchers)
  • Second Place: Team Protein (R300 + R200 Raru vouchers)
  • Third Place: Ventus (R200 + R100 Raru vouchers)
  • Fourth Place: Hi 5 (R200 Raru vouchers)

While Hi5 placed fourth overall, it should be noted that the team had to forfeit due to sadly not being able to continue the tournament.

Photos from the event will be available via our Facebook Page as soon as the internet minions allow us to upload them.
