Trenchtown Gaming Tournament | Ghosts, FIFA 14 and Injustice on 23 November

TT_November_02

We have two (yes, TWO!) planned tournaments at Trenchtown in Observatory, Cape Town before the year is over. There might be a third if we get enough interest, but let’s not get ahead of ourselves.

We’re ending the year with two of the titles which garnered a lot of support this year, and one new one that’s from a familiar series. Halo 4, FIFA 14 and now the new Call of Duty will be the featured games, but Injustice: Gods Among Us will also be getting a run.

Due to school exams and the holidays, we have decided to let Call of Duty: Ghosts and Halo 4 be run as free-for-all tournaments. This will give us the best reach, as teams will struggle to attend at strength, and this also gives new players a chance to get involved. It will also allow the rulesets to be settled upon in preparation for next year, when the team-based events will be back in full swing.

The registrations for the event on Saturday 23 November are now open, and the event on 14 December (featuring Halo 4, FIFA 14 and Injustice: Gods Among Us) will open next week.

Saturday 23 November

Call of Duty: Ghosts, FIFA 14 and Injustice: Gods Among Us.

Call of Duty: Ghosts will be a free-for-all tournament, and will be a double elimination event. Finish in the bottom half of your round twice, and you will be out. The winner will be crowned the ‘King of Ghosts’. Unless it’s a lady, then we shall name her the ‘Queen of Ghosts’.

Players entering are requested (where possible) to bring their own copy of CoD: Ghosts on Xbox 360, and while all other necessary equipment will be supplied, it is suggested that you bring along your own headsets, as the number available is limited. You can also bring along your own controllers.

FIFA 14 will be a 1v1 double elimination tournament played on both Xbox 360 and PS3, with the top two on each platform playing in a home and away grand final to determine the top four placings.

Injustice: Gods Among Us will be a free-to-enter event on PS3 and will have a hamper up for grabs.
