If you just can’t get enough of zombies – or enough of killing them – and the current Telltale Games’ episodic game of ‘The Walking Dead’ series is just a little too sedate for you then Activision has come to give you what you probably really want. Left 4 Dead with the name ‘The Walking Dead’ slapped on the cover…
Alright, that’s a little unfair. Activision have announced the Terminal Reality developed first-person shooter game based on events before the set before the AMC series. The game is geared for a 2013 release on Xbox, PS3 and PC, and tells the story of brothers Daryl and Merle Dixon as they make their way to the promised safety of Atlanta.
Zombies will react on sight and also to smells and sounds, so stealth is required to avoid them to ensure a good management of the limited supplies of ammo and food.
Other characters that Daryl (we assume the main protagonist in singelplayer with his brother as a potential co-op partner…) meets on the journey can pose a threat or be of assistance. Whether that means you can simply choose to shoot first and loot second is not clear.
“No place is truly safe for Daryl as he makes his way through the Georgia countryside in this new, post-apocalyptic world,” says Activision.
So it actually sounds a little more like Dead Island with the name ‘The Walking Dead’ slapped on the cover…
