Naughty Dog game director Bruce Straley announced on Twitter that the game has a release date, but remains mum on when that will be.
“We have a release date… #TheLastOfUs pic.twitter.com/rwUeiltJ0V”
The speculation mill went into hyper-drive (yes everyone should be excited for this one) when NeoGAF spotted a tweet from the Barnsley branch of GAME, claiming The Last of Us: Remastered will be released on PS4 next week.
The tweet was quickly erased and followed with another blaming an “over eager staff member.”
MCV reckon Sony may be planning a surprise E3 announcement, of the game being available next week.
This is unfortunately where all the happy news stops, well maybe, at least. GameFront report that Sony has stomped out the rumors.
Following on the retailer’s tweet claiming the Remastered edition would be released on June 13th, Sony emphatically deny that this is the case.
“The release date is not June 13th,” a Sony staffer said.
“As we’ve announced, The Last of Us Remastered for PS4 will release this summer. We will keep you posted on an official release date.”
Does anyone know anyone at Kalahari or Takealot?
