Telkom Digital Gaming League (DGL) | DotA2 Emerald Do-or-Die Proving Grounds

23 January 2017 | Emerald Do-or-Die Proving Grounds Round 1 Results

The second Emerald series qualifier, the Emerald Do-or-Die Proving Grounds Cup, started last night. Since there were only 19 competitors, Round 1 consisted of mostly byes to Round 2. There were only three matches played in Round 1. If you want to see the entire tournament bracket, please head directly over to the official Digital Gaming League tournament page here. If you’re confused about how all the Emerald qualifiers tie into each other, read our article explaining it all here.

Round 1 Results:

  • Online Godz 0 – 2 Sin5 Burning
  • We Are Legion Forsaken 1 – 2 SyGyZy
  • Vindictus Esports 0 – 2 Armageddon

Vindictus Esports, Online Godz, and Forsaken are knocked out after the first round after suffering defeats. OGz dropping in Round 1 is a little bit of a surprise, but Sin5 Burning put in absolutely dominant displays in both the matches. In either match Sin5 just came out on top in the draft, and that translated to fairly strong lanes which easily steamrolled OGz. In the other match Armageddon, who had a fairly solid run in the early rounds in the last Emerald qualifier cup, vanquish Vindictus Esports.

The following teams picked up a bye and pass directly to Round 2:

Round 2 takes place tonight, with all matches being scheduled at 20h30. You can see the tournament bracket here. GLHF to all the teams.

TL;DR Bye the biggest loser in Round 1.
