There’s another bumper ten days (or so) of activities happening all around the country and for gamers of almost every level and on every platform. Kicking off on a pretty low key is the Cape Town Gaming Meetup event. Originally meant for every third Thursday, it inexplicably skipped last Thursday and could very well happen tomorrow. A few gamers, something…
Gamernet has sent us a press release regarding the activities they find themselves currently involved in. Sadly, it does not include clandestine black ops missions behind enemy (human) lines, although they do have a venue you can practice for such an event at. The Gamernet House is situated at 45 Salisbury Street in Boston, Bellville in the Western Cape and…
Much like the previous 2upGamers event, I find myself in the difficult position of reporting – or writing waffle as some prefer to call my stream of haphazardly constructed sentences – and being directly involved in the event itself. Unlike the 6th Gen I might have got the balance partly right this time. However, I suspect that’s down to the…
If you didn’t know that this past weekend was filled with all sorts of gaming goodness, you’ve obviously been living under a rock. Or have not been reading Zombiegamer. Strapping on my favourite (OK, only) camera, I ventured off to see what was happening at two of the events in Cape Town – MainGaming’s Cape Town Launch Event at Tygervalley…
It’s a long weekend this coming weekend – in case you didn’t know. For many it may well be a five day weekend if you are lucky enough to have Monday off. There are more and more enthusiastic gamers, clans, community members and even companies wanting to get behind the once marginalised industry. To partner our recently launched clan profiles by Undead Ed on a Friday we thought…
It’s Friday, and as is slowly becoming tradition, Friday is clan day around here. Usually it’s a clan profile, but this week, Undead Ed landed up consuming a few too many energy drinks and last we heard he was heading to the top of Everest. It’s a good thing he had an ozone level energy drink then… In recent times,…
It’s easy to become blasé about events like the ones 2upGamers are so effortlessly (at least from an attendee’s perspective) putting together. You could easily expect to be treated to the same faces, the same activities and the same lame attempts at humour from yours truly in the coverage afterwards. But that would be unfair on the gents behind the…
The registrations for Cape Town Showdown‘s next event on 27 and 28 April has now opened. Registrations will remain open until 31 March and you can head over here to get in. There is a R25 fee for those taking part, while spectators can get in for free. The event will take place at The Settlers High School in Bellville.…
You’ve been waiting a little longer than usual, but you need wait no longer… the registrations for the next 2upGamers event entitled the ‘4th Dimension’ is now open. The event returns to its roots a little and is back at the Rygersdal Sports Club and will feature a mysterious “Mystery Guest”, who will be joined by speakers from Cape Town…
