Sony Turnaround By March 2011…

…3-D Gaming to lead the way.

Yesterday in a press conference at Sony H.Q, Tokyo Japan, Sony’s Chief Executive said that they aim to be profitable in gaming and flat-panel TVs by March 2011. They will showcase its strength in entertainment with their 3-D technology and begin to recover deep losses but that they still have work to do. Another senior executive Hiroshi Yoshioka said “We see 3-D as a pillar of our strategy. We are all getting geared up on this theme.”

Sony’s PlayStation 3 is headed for its second straight billion dollar loss in the current fiscal year ending March 2010 with the global slowdown and sliding prices of gadgets being the main cause. Stringer, who first promised a more nimble and streamlined Sony when he took the helm in 2005, said things would be different this time, “This is a new Sony. The new team here is as digitally connected as our devices.”
