Sony Reveals New 500GB and 12GB Playstation 3 Slim Consoles and Playstation Store to Receive New Look

The sleek new Playstation 3 Slim has been rumoured for some time now, with images surfacing in Brazil a few months ago. Sony has now unveiled the new console.

The console goes on sale in Europe in late September, so we can assume it will launch locally around then. The new console will be available with 500GB of storage and will be closely followed by a “cheaper” 12GB version.

The 12GB model will be upgradable too and you can ramp up the capacity by connecting a dedicated 250GB Hard Disk Drive. Sony say this is only one of the great peripherals that will be released at the same time, and confirm that a range of other essential accessories such as a vertical stand will also launch.

The PlayStation Store is also set to get a new look from October 2012 too, which is supposed to be easier to navigate around.
