It seems the Resistance series’ steady decline in popularity has left Sony a little cold on the future of the series.
Despite Resistance 3 on the Playstation 3 being a worthy title, scoring 83/100 on Metacritic, sales were modest. The latest Resistance: Burning Skies for the Playstation Vita was not received too well received with the critics, and overall the series that was once revered by Playstation 3 fans, has suffered a steady decline in popularity.
Sony’s Daniel Brooke recently told the Official PlayStation Magazine UK [as reported by CVG] that Sony has “no definitive plans” for the future of the Resistance franchise.
“The Resistance Franchise has been exciting to work on but as for the future, we have no definitive plans,” Brook told the magazine.
Fans of the series will have to do with the best of what the series has offered so far in the Resistance Trilogy pack for the Playstation 3. The Resistance Trilogy consists of the great first three games in the series and is available from retailers.
