The listings were an error according to Bethesda’ Pete Hines. It looks like there are no plans to bring Skyrim to the Xbox One and Playstation 4.

CVG report that Bethesda’s popular RPG – The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim – may be heading to the Xbox One and Playstation 4.

The news comes about after OnlySP captured a screenshot of Bethesda’s Skyrim website, which shows next-gen versions of the game listed alongside the existing Xbox 360, PS3 and PC editions.

The listing has since been removed, and it remains unclear if it was an error or not, but we can’t think of a reason why the studio wouldn’t want to bring their biggest title to the new consoles.

To add further speculation to the positive, a number of European Reddit users have reportedly received an email from Bethesda teasing a “very special announcement.”

CVG has reportedly contacted Bethesda for clarification, so we will keep an eye on that, but our guess would be that it was an early slip.
