We are disappointed to hear that Shenmue 3 is the latest bogus trademark to join the Fallout 4 and Half-Life 3 trademark hoax.
CVG report that this one is the latest fake submission and that these fakes are all likely from the same person.
The Shenmue 3 application was filed this past Tuesday at the Office of Harmonization for the Internal Market (OHIM), and has yet to be examined.
The Fallout 4 trademark was submitted at the same office, examined and eventually discarded by officials. Last October it was a Half-Life 3 application that appeared online and then discarded.
OHIM provided CVG with documents explaining how anyone can apply for a trademark – making it a potential target for short-term filings until examined.
