Orena_BftT_01Energy eSports has claimed the throne in the first CS: GO ‘Battle for the Throne’ tournament hosted by Orena.

eN. Heat defeated Eternal Conflict 2-0 in the final and will now await a challenger in the next installment of the tournament which is “coming soon”. You can find the brackets for the completed tournament here.

Energy have also bagged the first seed and only invite for the Logitech Invitational event. Details of this tournament are expected today still.


Meanwhile, the Dota 2, Hearthstone and Xbox One Advanced Warfare legs of the Battle for the Throne have kicked off. You can follow the results by hitting the links for each title.

GG Tournaments SA

GG Tournaments SA have kicked off their 2015 tournament season with a 3v3 SnD tournament for Xbox One. The team cap for the event has already been hit and matches should be underway from tomorrow with the finals scheduled for this Saturday.

Jukes Club and Esports Lounge

Pretoria looks set to be getting its own eSports venue in the shape of Jukes Club and Esports Lounge. No opening day has been announced, but if you’re a Pretoria gamer, keep your eye on their website and Facebook page.


MSSA SA Flag LogoOnline Inter-Schools

The MSSA Online Inter-Schools eSports League has opened registrations for school clubs to participate across a variety of titles. Registrations for the league will close on 16 March.

The league will be played in the Swiss format and schools do not have enter all titles offered. Affiliation fees for the school are R100.00 per annum, while player registration fees are R5.00 each.

North West LAN Championships

The North West LAN Championships will be hosted on 7 and 8 March. Registrations for the tournament – which will feature StarCraft II, CoD: Advanced Warfare, League of Legends, Hearthstone, Ultimate Street Fighter IV and Tekken Tag Tournament 2 on the Saturday, and Dota, Counter-Strike, OSU, FIFA and Trackmania on the Sunday – closes on 4 March.
