Another week in SA gaming has flown by. Here is some of the things that went down and are on the horizon around the country.
Something you may have missed on the site this past week:
Megarom has a rather tasty giveaway running until 6 February. You and four friends could bag a copy of Evolve and an Xbox One each. It’s easy enough really. Register here and include four friends who need to respond to the email they will receive, and then maybe you all win.
Otherwise, feel free to pre-order Evolve from our affiliate here.
MGMS Advanced Warfare First Recon
MWEB GameZone’s first tournament of the Call of Duty Advanced Warfare season is in full swing and reaches its final stage on Sunday 1 February. The finals (we suspect the final three matches in fact) are likely to be streamed. We’ll let you know details of when and where.
In the interim, if you’re keen to keep up to date with your favourite team’s progress, the full bracket can be found here.
The full list of titles and their respective portal links can be found here.
PS4 teams keen to play for cash and other prizes can head here for details on the tournament.
The Killah Clowns
Registrations are still open (for the next ten days at least) for Season One of TKC’s Battlefield 4 online tournament for PC. The first season will be followed by another three over the course of the year.
Ventus Gaming have announced the addition of a CS: GO team to their brand. The team features ” respected and well known members” and are aiming for “top 3” at DGC.
The CS: GO team joins the existing Call of Duty, Dota 2 and StarCraft 2 teams at Ventus.
TTSA have announced the winner of their Dropper Livery Contest. Lenel Butler bagged R1,000 cash and a ‘shotgun ride’ in Dropper’s R33.
The Forza focused community have also announced the winners of their 2014 award ceremony.
We also suggest keeping an eye on their Facebook Page as they are planning to give away some Xbox Live related goodies.
A few well known faces appeared on Tech Report last week to discuss competitive gaming accessories.
If you missed the Orena LifeChild Invitational Dota 2 final between Bravado Emotion and Blue, then sit back and enjoy. If you have around four hours though.
- This weekend is the Gigabit LAN at UCT hosted by Cause Gaming. The charity LAN event kicks off at 5pm on Friday and runs until 11am on Sunday. Details (including pricing) can be found here.
