Hey South Africa, the last week may not necessarily have been the busiest week of 2014 with regards to gaming, but maybe it’s a calm before the storm. Or the forewarning of the zombie apocalypse.

TTSA

Cars in the ParkTTSA will be at Willowbridge Shopping Mall this Saturday (22 November) for the ‘Cars in the Park’ event. As it says on the tin, it’s all about cars in the park… ing lot of Willowbridge in the Tyger Valley area. There will be cars – both real and virtual – to gawp at and a chance to set the fastest lap time or just try out the latest iterations of Forza too. You will also probably see a zombie lurking about.

The organisation is also still running a ‘Livery’ competition for “Dropper TK’s Nissan Skyline R33?. There’s R1000 and a ride in the real world version of the car up for grabs, so follow the instructions here, and get your designs finished by 30 November.

Console COD eSports

nAv TV recently sat down (or chased around) some of South Africa’s top competitive console clans to ask them about the upcoming Advanced Warfare season and the scene in general. Read the thoughts of F34R, ViNCO, Xero Fracture and Insane Gaming right here.

A Gauteng LAN

Or… the LAWN LAN. Megarom’s Devon Stanton (@iam_Devon on Twitter) has announced the intention of a Call of Duty Advanced Warfare LAN for players in the Gauteng region. Interested players should register their said interest here, and get their picnic basket and blanket ready. Or probably not.

BeZerk Gaming

BeZerk Gaming have been a busy bunch. We heartily recommend you check out their article on the ‘5 Ways to Improve Your Gaming, as well as an article about the mouse settings used by CS: GOO player in SA.

On top of that, the clan is playing in the new ESL Battlefield 4 season, where battling against some top teams is just part of the struggle… can you say “LAG”?

Ozone Tournaments ZA

Ozone Tournaments ZA has announced the OzoneXPS4 tournament. The online Advanced Warfare tournament kicks off on 5 December and will be on PS4, but registrations are now open.

Team Vague

Team Vague have announced plans for an online FIFA 15 tournament on Xbox One. The tournament will start next Friday (28 November) and to enter, you need to follow them on Twitter [Sneaky way of getting new followers… – Undead Ed] and DM them.

Upcoming Events

  • If you’re near Trenchtown tonight (Wednesday) we will be there with FIFA 15. If there’s enough players, it’s R20 entry, and winner takes all. Specials all night.
  • The Orena Life Child Invitational – originally planned to be a LAN this weekend, but cancelled and changed to online – sees the CS: GO and Dota 2 teams battle for their share of R15,000. Coverage will be by nAv TV, so hit their site or watch for the others that will host streams too.
  • FIFAChamps are hosting a FIFA 15 and Skating ‘Pop-up’ Session at Dreamers Hobby Shop in Kenilworth from 11am on Saturday. Details via their Facebook Page.
  • Saturday sees the Battlefield 4 5v5 Clash kick off. Hosted by The Killah Clowns, the tournament runs into Sunday too for added thrills.
  • On Saturday from 4pm, Gaming World SA (GWZA) host an online Call of Duty Advanced Warfare tournament for Xbox One. If you’re interested, DM @GAMER_GWZA.
