Good day South Africa. This is your gaming news.

Let’s start with a few reminders. If you missed our coverage of the finals of the MWEB GameZone Masters Series, you can catch up here. For FIFA 15 fans on console, Dota 2 and CS: GO teams, there’s the Orena Life Child tournament coming your way in November.

Kamimodo eSports Cafe

IMG_3253On Friday 17 October, Kamimodo eSports Cafe opened its doors for trading in Observatory. The opening night party featured a FIFA 15 tournament and a Call of Duty Black Ops 2 tournament hosted by the zombies, while Cape Town Showdown were there to host some virtual beatings.

A very decent number of (decent) humans descended on the venue to check out and participate in activities. On the FIFA 15 front 18 players took part in a double elimination tournament which saw Yazeed Dollie and his brother Asheer face-off in the finals. Yazeed proved the stronger on the night and earned R400 for his trouble, while Asheer pocketed R250.

21 players took part in the Black Ops 2 free-for-all tournament. It was Kent Jansen that ran out as the winner in the tournament to bag himself R400.

The venue is still finishing up and tweaking a few things but it looks set to be a great destination for eSports fans – and coffee fans too – as it aims to get the balance between a lounging area and playing area spot on.

Two photo albums from the event are available. We snapped some pics and CBartworks did too.

You can find Kamimodo eSports Cafe at 238 Main Road, Observatory.

Logo and apparel designer #PWND has announced a partnership with three of SA’s top console competitive teams.

The partnership gives supporters the opportunity to show their support for either F34R Adept, ViNCO Gaming or Insane Gaming (or all three) by purchasing their team jerseys. A portion of the sale of each jersey – which sell for R500 – will be given straight back to the team, and you will be able to show your allegiance in the upcoming Advanced Warfare season.

You can get your team jersey by contacting #PWND or the teams themselves.

Braccianos eSports Lounge

Braccianos hosted their FIFA 15 tournament this past Saturday and saw 32 players play for the first prize of a PS4 console. The tournament saw a number of familiar faces from the Cape Town competitive community participate, along with a number of newer faces, but it was Aziz Hendricks (aka Rumplestilzchen) that pipped Asheer Dollie in the final with a 4-0 win.

The full bracket is available here.
