Borngamers_Legends_Season 2Legends 2v2

The winning team was Andrew-lee “Franchizeboy87” Tobias and Christiano “Tiano10” Dos Ramos who only conceded 10 goals in 20 matche,s while scoring a phenomenal 67 Goals on the way. Christiano also claimed the Golden Boot, and the win gave FIFA clan Borngamers their second league title in a row at Legends.

North vs South

The MSSA and MWEB Inter-Regional came and went this past Friday with Cape Town running out overall winners over Joburg. The event was an effort to improve the profile of South African eSports in general, and if the early news coverage by SABC 3 on Monday is anything to go by, that has been achieved. For our full report on what went down on the Cape Town side of the event, head here.

MWEB Ladders

The day after the night before (Saturday 20 July) saw a number of the same admin team hit MWEB’s HQ again for the Super 8 knockouts in the 1v1 Sniper Ladders and MW3 Community Ladders. Sadly, a number of players and teams didn’t make it for the allocated times, but in the end winners won and others… didn’t.

Due to the sponsorship structure, the Razer 1v1 Sniper tournament on PS3 was the main focus for streams but that did not mean the other competitions were not hotly contested affairs at times.

The winners and runners-up:
Razer 1v1 Sniper – 1st: SYFG MetalSlug 2nd: Pres Teqno
MW3 Flashpoint Community (X360) – 1st: Astra 2nd: Adept
MW3 Flashpoint Community (PS3) – 1st: RaW Gaming 2nd: eVo BLU3

Full brackets and results available here for Razer 1v1 Sniper, MWEB 1v1 Sniper, MW3 Flashpoint Community on X360 and MW3 Flashpoint Community on PS3.

RA5 Tournament

ra5The RA5 Xbox 360 Black Ops 2 tournament has hit its final stage and has already thrown up some awesome matches. On Tuesday night F34R and High 5 Revo faced each other to grab their place in the final against ViNCO Gaming. The match was a scintillating affair with the first Hardpoint setting the scene for a tight and entertaining game. You can catch the match on the RA5 Twitch channel and is worth every minute… especially considering the match had around six codcasters…

The game may well also have been F34R leader J4K3Z last game for his clan as he has decided to join Team Adept.

The tournament is being sponsored by Afrihost and the date and time of final is still to be confirmed.

BF3 ‘Inter-Provincial’

Not an ‘official’ Inter-Provincial, but a community driven Battlefield 3 tournament that pits teams made up of players in (almost) each province against each other.

With two rounds completed so far, the Western Cape Gamers [WCG] and Gauteng Warriors [GWaR] are sitting at the top of the leaderboard with two wins each.

You can keep up to date with the results right here.
