MWEB Gamezone Freeze Frag Tournament

Freeze Frag_01MWEB GameZone is proving to be the most consistent provider of console-based competitive Call of Duty tournament in the country, and this weekend saw the finals on their ‘Freeze Frag’ online tournament.

Played on both the Xbox 360 and PS3, and with prizes from Gunnar, Kalahari and more up for grabs, 32 teams started the Xbox 360 tournament, while 16 kicked things off on PS3.

The winner of the PS3 tournament was ROA Gaming, who defeated iiNFECTGaming 3-1, while two F34R teams battled it out in the Xbox 360 final.

F34R_Adept continued their winning ways by defeating F34R_TBG 3-0 in another dominant display.

You can read HoldenZA’s coverage of the tournament here.

Don’t forget, this weekend, 16 teams will be battling it out in the MWEB GameZone Master Series JHB LAN. Keep your eyes on social media for links to the streams.

Gaming World SA

GWSA_01The day before the MWEB Freeze Frag semis and final, Gaming World SA hosted their ‘Prep’ LAN, which saw F34R_Adept and five more Cape Town teams battle in a round robin event to warm up for this weekend’s MWEB JHB LAN.

The atmosphere was relaxed but still offered the teams heading to JHB the opportunity to get their eye in before heading north.

While it may be no surprise that F34R_Adept walked off as the undefeated winners, the other teams did prove to be more than competitive, with Team Polar grabbing second spot.

You can view the full bracket here.

We also took a few photos at the event, and you can see them here.
