iVents_LogoiVentsZA have announced their first tournament in conjunction with Evopoints. The ‘Beta’ tournament – going by the name of #eVoCODBeta – will be for 64 teams playing Call of Duty Ghosts on the Xbox 360. Prizes include Scuf controllers, cash sponsorship for 3 months, T-shirts and Dog Tags, as well as spectator prizes.

Registrations open today and will close on 3 June, with the tournament kicking off on 8 June until 13 July. You can register here. The full breakdown of prizes is as follows:

1st Place

  • 4x Scuf Controller’s for Xbox 360
  • R1000 Sponsorship per month for 3 months for the first place team
  • 4x Evopoints T-shirts branded with your Gamertag and #eVoCODBeta
  • 4x Special Edition Evopoints Dog Tags #eVoCODBeta

2nd Place

  • 4x R170 Xbox Gift Cards
  • R700 Sponsorship per month for 3 months for the second place team
  • 4x Evopoints T-shirts branded with your Gamertag and #eVoCODBeta
  • 4x Special Edition Evopoints Dog Tags #eVoCODBeta

3rd Place

  • 4x R100 Xbox Gift Cards
  • R400 Sponsorship per month for 3 months for the third place team
  • 4x Evopoints T-shirts branded with Gamertag and #eVoCODBeta
  • 4x Special Edition Evopoints Dog Tags #eVoCODBeta

The final 20 matches will also be streamed with “shoutcasters who are PAID to bring you professional casting and give-aways per Streamed match. “The tournament is the first of nine promised over the next four months. [via Twitlonger]

It has also been revealed that Evopoints will now stock Scuf controllers for the Xbox 360 and Xbox One.

League for Gamers

Hmm. Seems another start up online tournament organiser has decided to call it a day after not very many days (OK, to be fair they managed to get to a second tournament) operating.

We’re not 100% sure what actually happened during the recent 2v2 Black Ops 2 tournament, but something broke a camel’s back clearly.

South African clan Damage Control have launched their online store which sells “pro-grade e-sports gear” including BenQ gaming monitors, graphics cards, gaming mouse(s) and more.

TTSA – SA Forza 4 Drift Community

The World Champ Drift Series hits round five on Tuesday 3 June. The track being used for the round is ‘Road Atlanta – Formula Drift section’. Get your motor running from 7:30pm.

South Africa’s team in the ESL Battlefield 4 Conquest Country Cup Playoffs are still waiting to find out who their opponents in the grand final will be. It currently seems that Finland and Sweden can’t agree on when to play their loser’s bracket final. Hopefully, it will all happen before Battlefield 5 arrives…
