It looks like South African gaming – especially in the console competitive scene – is about to see an avalanche of activity again. There are plenty of upcoming (but still to be confirmed) events, but for now, let’s focus on what happened over the last week, and what is coming up over the next week or so.

MWEB GameZone

The MWEB GameZone crew announced a pretty well kept secret this week. The ‘Masters Series’ for Call of Duty Ghosts on console was revealed and features seven events, three of which are LAN events and four online.

Kicking things off on 10 March is the ‘Lets Go’ online tournament for both Xbox 360 and PS3. Registrations are now open.

The next event will be a LAN on 5 and 6 April in Cape Town. But don’t worry Gauteng, your turn is coming.

And yes, we’re pretty pleased to say we are involved with the series, along with Gunnar and more sponsors to be announced.
