We’re pretty sure gaming will feature heavily in the shopping malls around the country, but for those who don’t want to make a fool of yourself dancing in front of the Kinect in public, it’s the last week of activity before the event organisers take their break for a few weeks.

Oh yeah. If you didn’t already know – the PlayStation 4 launches in South Africa tomorrow. The long weekend is going to be a busy one for day one adopters.

The MSSA National Championships were held over this past weekend, and due to lack of information from the MSSA about the event itself, we can only tell you that:

a) it happened, and
b) that there are photos available here.

We’re pretty sure a press release will be forthcoming. Sometime.

Orena

Orena hosted their second of three tournaments over the course of the last week. The CS: GO final saw Damage Control face off against Bravado Gaming for the cash and products sponsored by NAG and SteelSeries.

IMG_3570Fives Futbol FIFA 14 Tournament

28 players decided to brave the heat on Saturday 7 December at Fives Futbol in Century City to play some virtual football while watching others (including some of their own opponents) run around under the blazing sun playing real five-a-side football.

The FIFA 14 tournament almost belonged to 10 year old Kyle who beat a number of well known Cape Town FIFA players en-route to his semi-final place.  In the end, he grabbed third spot with a 1-0 win over Lee.

The final was contested between Yazeed and Killian. Yazeed took the win – and the sponsored hamper – 3-1.
