And this is it. The very last SA Gaming News Wrap of 2017. We’ll be back in the new year again, but for now we would like to wish all our readers, supporters and (haters) a safe and relaxing holiday season. Remember to keep the local gaming flag flying high.

Upcoming Events

Over at our sister organisation, ACGL, there are ongoing ladders for the festive season. The ladders run until 30 December and feature: Rocket League, Call of Duty, FIFA 18 and Rainbow Six Siege. Details can be found here.

Otherwise, you can keep yourself occupied at these events this weekend:

  • Xbox Playdates ZA will be hosting their final playdate of the year on Thursday (21 December) from 8pm. You can get more information here about the regular gaming play dates.
    • 21st – WWE 2K18
  • Gamerfest is a Ghanaian gaming event which kicks off Friday (22 December) and runs until Sunday (24 December). A variety of tournaments and other gaming activities are on the agenda and interested attendees can find out more here.
  • There is a LAN event in Port Elizabeth from Friday at 10am. The event – which will feature some sort of BYO tournament – will be hosted at both the Pizza Guys and Coffee on Cape. There’s a R50 entry fee which gets you a free coffee. Additional details can be found on the event page.
  • Kenya sees the Pro Series Gaming event for Call of Duty WWII on Saturday (23 December). The tournament starts at 11am at the Prestige Plaza. Details are a little scarce but interested players can head here for ticket information.

Remember to keep these days open for some upcoming action a little further in the future:
