Upcoming Events

Our sister organisation, ACGL, has a number of tournaments happening online for Rocket League, Call of Duty and Injustice 2. You can find out more on their tournament page.

Not a heck of a lot happening this weekend, but here’s what is:

  • Xbox Playdates ZA are hosting their playdates series throughout November. The Thursday evening events start at 8pm, while the Friday F1 events begin at 9pm. You can get more information here about the regular gaming play dates.

    • 10th – F1 2016 (Brazil)
    • 16th – Rainbow 6 Siege
    • 23rd – Rocket League
    • 24th – F1 2016 (Abu Dhabi)
    • 30th – Ghost Recon Wildlands Ghost War
  • The Mega8 Esports Dota 2 Pro League continues this weekend. For game and stream details keep an eye on their Facebook page.

Spectator seats for Mettlestate and Evetech’s Join The Legion event are now available. Space is limited, so if you want to catch the exhibition match live at the venue, you better book sooner rather than later.

South Africa is in Busan, South Korea for the 9th IeSF Esports World Championship which runs until 12 November. The team representing South Africa has now officially been dubbed the BOO! Protea Esports Team [Erm. OK. – Undead Ed] after BOO! Surprising Media Solutions became the MSSA’s new sponsor.

The World Championships sees a total of 36 teams competing across a number of titles, and South Africa is joined by neighbors Namibia for this year’s event.

The South African team is already playing matches at the time of writing and had already succumbed 16-1 to Romania in CS: GO and 23-7 to Korea in League of Legends, while the South African Tekken player beat his Namibian opponent in their match. The Protea LoL team also beat the Russian team in their first match of the tournament.
