Upcoming Events
ACGL have online tournaments for Rocket League, Call of Duty Infinite Warfare, For Honor and Halo 5. Details can be found here. The fourth and final heat of the Injustice 2 SA Cup is on this Sunday and interested fighters can register here for a bite at R60,000 and a trip overseas. Alongside that, there is R12,000 up for grabs in the Infinite Warfare tournament forming part of the MWEB GameZone Masters Series. Details here.
Meanwhile, VS Gaming is hosting a variety of legs, cups and other tournaments, while Orena have kicked off their Orena Champions Series. There is also the ongoing ESL Africa tournaments, while there are these events to keep your eye out for:
- Xbox Playdates ZA are hosting a number of playdates in May. The Thursday events start at 8pm, while the Friday F1 events begin at 9pm. You can get more information here about the regular gaming play dates.
- 15 – DiRT 4
- 22 – Rainbow Six Siege
- 23 – F1 2016 (Azerbaijan)
- 29 – Micro Machines World Series
- GRFX 2017 kicks off on 16 June at 10am and runs until Sunday 18 June. What is GRFX 2017? It’s “72 hours of non-stop LAN gaming and 12 Graphic Design hands-on Master Class Workshops.” It will be held in Pretoria, and interested parties can find out more here.
Orena Fathers DAY Football Championship is scheduled for this weekend. The event page says it kicks off at 10am on Friday 16 June, while the about section says it starts Saturday. There is R5,000 up for grabs (winner takes all) and entry is R60 per person or R100 for two players.
- ICON returns this long weekend for its 25th anniversary edition at Gallagher Convention Centre. The three day cosplay and geek event starts at 9am on Friday 16 June. Additional information can be found here.
- There’s a ‘LAN Party‘ scheduled for the Timeline E-Sports Center in Benoni this Saturday. Entry is R100 and seats are limited to 18. More information can be found on the event page.
