With the year starting to reach its end, the activities in South Africa can be expected to slow down a little. However, as long as there is something happening, we will be there to tell you about it.

Nothing. There appears to be nothing happening this weekend (at least not at the time of writing), unless you count a Shell activation at Canal Walk which does have same racing seats by TGN Racing Simulators…
Remember to keep these days open for some upcoming action a little further in the future:
- 19 November 2016: PES Society Pro Evo 2017 PS4 Tournament
- 29 April to 1 May 2017: FanCon
- 28 to 30 July 2017: EGE
Competitions & Giveaways
This past weekend (and some of last week) saw Capegate Shopping Mall in Cape Town host a Gaming and Tech Expo, which saw your *favourite* zombies host some gaming and tournaments.
While we get to uploading our photos from the event (our internet is as slow as the shambling horde from The Walking Dead), we would like to take the opportunity to thank everyone that came along and supported us at the event.
We were very pleased with the turnout for some of the events with the FIFA 17 reaching 79 competitors and PES 2017 capping at 32 players. Congratulations to the tournament winners who won Raru vouchers and Computer Mania vouchers:

Halo South Africa has announced a new 4v4 league which will start seeding teams for 2017 and expanded plans across multiple divisions.
Halo 5 players should get themselves teammates and register now in preparation for the start of the action on 1 December 2016.
Head here to get informed and registered.
Looking for some Modern Warfare Remastered competitive action on PlayStation 4? Then Go Gaming has you covered with their 2v2 SnD event scheduled for 14 November 2016. Registrations appear to have hit the 32 team cap, but maybe keep an eye on the organisation in case they increase capacity.

Ventus Gaming has announced that the Divine eSports team, the Knights, has joined them bringing a strong CS: GO team into the fold.
Knights recently secured second spot against Energy eSports in the Digital Gaming Championships at rAge which follows a good year for the team overall.
[hide-this-part Morelink=”Show Press Release:”]
We welcome the Knights from Divine eSports to our Ventus family. It might or might not be a surprise but over the last few days we’ve been in constant communication with them. Together we both have the same vision in mind for the long run with similar goals. Below is a background of the team for those who may not be following the Counter–Strike scene.
Knights, previously known as Pixel Hunters, have worked themselves from ladder division at the start of the year, after joining Divine eSports in March, and progressed all the way to qualifying for the DGC (Digital Gaming Championships) at rAge Expo, placing 2nd only losing to Energy eSports in the finals. With the departure of Dylan “dyvothegreat” Vorster, the team has picked up Michael “Crucial” Bishop followed by Marno “wtf?” Grobler joining on the bench.
The line-up is as follows:
- Courtney “hypeR” Ferguson (c)
- Michael “Crucial” Bishop
- Marc “h[a]tch” Du Preez
- Cahil “SchizzY” Henry-Leyte
- Wayne “Craan” Smith
- Marno “wtf?” Grobler

A few words from the Captain and Manager for the “Knights” team:
“It’s been a personal ambition of mine from the beginning of the year to prove myself and the team I represent by taking down the competition no matter the grind. Now as we reach the end of the year, the build up has been a bumpy road, but a great opportunity has surfaced within Ventus; where now we have the chance to represent and pursue the end goal of becoming a part of the best this country has to offer.
The fight has only begun and I cannot emphasize the excitement and commitment both personally and within our team. I see us accomplishing great things with hard work and grinding out our way through which ever challenge is thrown at us.
I feel we will flourish within Ventus, and continue the ambition that I have been pursuing since the very start. I have great confidence in my team that we will achieve it.” – Courtney “hypeR” Ferguson
