Upcoming Events

There are a few things happening this weekend along with a number of ongoing events currently underway including the HaloSA tournament, Telkom DGL, Eclipse CupOrena’s Ladders, ESEA, Plan G’s Proving GroundPredator MGMS and more.

  • EGE 2016 is her and sees CTICC welcome guests on 29 to 31 July. There will be vendors, cosplay, table top gaming, a 53-hour BYOC LAN, competitive gaming, a school’s day, prizes galore, panels, and a whole host more.   • In The Box in Ghana are hosting an event on 29 July. Titles appear to be FIFA and Mortal Kombat X, but if you’re looking for additional information, we suggest heading here.
  • MSSA are hosting the National Schools Championship at Parklands College on 30 and 31 July. If you’re keen to get involved, head over to the MSSA Facebook page.
  • Con.ect 2016 hits the NMMU Vodacom Indoor Sport Centre in Port Elizabeth. The geek convention runs 30 and 31 July and will cost you R50 for a day pass and R80 for a weekend pass. Cosplay is optional, but go on and dress up, you know you want to. Head to the event page for more information.
  • If you’re looking for FIFA 16 action (outside of an expo), then the Football Masters E-Sports Tournament happening at The Loft in Wetton, Cape Town is for you. R100 is the current entry fee and there is R3,000 up for grabs. The tournament kicks off at 10am on 30 July 2016. Facebook event page.

Cape Town based gaming lounge, Games On, appear to have called it a day after four years. While we would like to wish owner Richard van Wyk and his crew all the best and thank them for the years of service to SA gaming.
