No big surprise this…
Modern Warfare 2 has officially been banned in Russia. I seriously doubt that I need to warn anyone of a spoiler here as by now every gamer will know exactly why – ‘no Russia.’
You are given the option to skip controversial scenes in the game, but it seems it is not enough for Russia and Russian gamers alike, who apparently are very offended by this infamous scene. During the stage of topic, you gun down civilians and clear out the airport. This scene is an important part to the storyline and it is used to illustrate how evil the character that sets this up is.
Infinity Ward has decided to make a retail version of the game to patch things up with Russia, which will exclude the controversial ‘No Russian’ stage. But before the game is allowed to be sold at retail within the country, the Russian government wants to approve of its content.
