Redbull is in the planning stages of a ‘Top Gear for gamers’ like TV show in the UK.

The videogames show, currently dubbed ‘Players’, is to be hosted by former Hollyoaks actors, and “massive gaming obsessives” Matt Litter and Darren Jeffries. MCV report that several sources say Litter and Jeffries have been pitching the show “for years”.

Players hopes to bring “the best games coverage in the UK without alienating non-game lovers.” And because of this, the show will supposedly be done in Top Gear style, because the motoring show is also enjoyed by non-petrolheads for its entertainment value.

It will be half an hour long with segments “no longer that 2-3 minutes each.” The show will even include a short segment styled to that of the Top Gear ‘Star In A reasonably Priced Car’ bit.

Players will signify Redbull’s intention to “expand beyond its traditional extreme sports and exploration content.”

Recording for the pilot is due to take place this Friday (June 27th).
