Yesterday THQ announced via a press release (international) confirming that Red Faction: Battlegrounds is official and should hit both Xbox Live Marketplace and the Playstation Network by next year.
The download only title is reportedly expected to contain everything the Red Faction franchise has become known for like the solid gameplay, mechs and all the havoc. A multiplayer challenge will be included which will set 4 players against each other in a variety of different game modes including Survival, Annihilate and Flag Frenzy.
Lastly you will be able to rank up, earn goodies and carry your loot into Red Faction: Armageddon, the retail game that is also set for released next year.
We can expect Red Faction: Battlegrounds to be available before the retail game.
